Birthplace: Grand Junction, CO Resided In: Emerson, Iowa David Eugene "Dave" Roth, age 57 of Emerson, Iowa passed away March 25, 2003 at the VA Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Dave Roth was born December 16, 1945, in Grand Junction, Colorado, the son of Harry and Shirlee (Howell) Roth. Dave grew up in Colorado and graduated from high school in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1963. After high school, Dave entered the U. S. Air Force retiring after 21 years of service. On August 10, 1990, he married Ann Winkel in Elkton, Maryland. Dave was a computer programmer and analyst and traveled throughout the country. He moved to Emerson eight years ago. Dave was a member of the Emerson American Legion, Emerson Masonic Lodge, Past President of the Emerson Community Club and Charter Rep. for the Boy Scouts. Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Shirlee Roth. He is survived by his wife Ann of Emerson, Iowa; children: David Roth II and his wife Melony of Grand Junction, Colorado and Shawna Roth of Grand Junction, Colorado and their mother Ruth of Grand Junction, Colorado; Robert David Roth of Emerson, Iowa; one step-son: Raymond Jay Darby of New London, Connecticut; grandchildren: David III and Kiel Roth and Brianna Webb; father: Harry Roth of Grand Junction, Colorado; three brothers: Loren and wife Connie of Grand Junction, Colorado; Curt and wife Laurie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Rick and wife Donna of Grand Junction, Colorado; one sister; Judy Lemon and husband Ed of Grand Junction, Colorado; father and mother-in-law: R.Adm. Raymond Winkel and Ellen Winkel of Heathsville, Virginia and ten nieces. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, with the Emerson Masonic Lodge officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 7-8 PM Friday, March 28, 2003 at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Memorials are suggested to the family in lieu of flowers. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
