Birthplace: Harlan, Iowa Resided In: Atlantic, IA formerly Elliott, IA David Anthony Daugherty III, age 22, of Atlantic, Iowa, formerly of Elliott, Iowa passed away Monday, December 26, 2016. David was born February 18, 1994 in Harlan, Iowa the son of David Daugherty II and Julia (Shearer) Daugherty. He graduated from the Griswold, Iowa High School in 2013. He moved to Atlantic, Iowa where he worked for Professional Plastics until the time of his death. David loved shooting guns, was a member of the NRA, and was a member of the Atlantic YMCA where he loved working out. He also enjoyed videos games and spending time with friends. Preceding him in death were his grandfather: Robert Shearer; uncle: Richard Shearer; and cousin: Travis Shearer. Survivors include his mother: Julia Daugherty and Jose Martinez of Elliott, IA; father: David Daugherty II and wife Dawn of Sidney, IA; sisters: Cassie Rohner and wife Emily of Red Oak, IA and Caiti Daugherty of Elliott, IA; brother: Robert Daugherty of Atlantic, IA; step-sister: Colbie Fike of Red Oak, IA; step-brothers: Christian Sempek and Aurelia Sempek of Atlantic, IA; niece: Annabelle Rohner of Red Oak, IA; grandparents: Jane Shearer of Red Oak, IA; Sandy Offenbacker of Modale, IA; and David Daugherty, Sr. and wife Jill of Council Bluffs, IA; great grandparents: Beatrice and Chub Waldron of Coin, IA; uncles and aunts: Robert Shearer, Jr. and wife Michelle of Emerson, IA; William Shearer of Atlantic, IA; Russell Shearer of Griswold, IA; Steve Shearer of Manson, IA; Jeffrey Shearer of Red Oak, IA; Alex Hirst and husband Al of Modale, IA; Andrew Offenbacker and wife Katie of Modale, IA; Jeff Daugherty and wife Tammy of Council Bluffs, IA; and Chris Daugherty of Council Bluffs, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be at a later date at the Hillside Cemetery in Elliott, Iowa. Viewing and visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
