Birthplace: Council Bluffs, Iowa Resided In: Stanton, Iowa David H. Baumbach, age 62, of Stanton, Iowa passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 at his residence in Stanton. David Harold Baumbach was born April 16, 1946 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of Harold and Katherine Baumbach. He was raised in Mills and Pottawattamie Counties graduating from Carson High School. He served in the Army for two years and then was an Iowa Army National Guardsman retiring in the mid 1980's. David was united in marriage to Evelyn Bennett and to this union was born two children: Chris and Steve. He later was united in marriage to Bonnie Shook on August 27, 1986 at Wesley Chapel Church in Mills County, Iowa. David lived most of his life in Stanton, Iowa but for a period of time lived in Red Oak. He worked for Eveready Battery Company retiring after 28 years and also farmed for many years. After retirement, he went back to school learning the heating and air-conditioning business. He operated a business with his son-in-law, Rick Meisinger. David loved the outdoors being an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed collecting antique toy tractors and recently started to repair them. He also enjoyed his grandchildren very much. David is survived by his wife: Bonnie Baumbach of Stanton, Iowa; his mother: Katherine Fisher of Pacific Junction, Iowa; his father: Harold Baumbach and wife Grace of Villisca, Iowa; his children: Chris Baumbach and wife Stephanie of New Braunfels, Texas and Steve Baumbach and wife Cynthia of Euless, Texas; step-children: Shelly Graham and husband Brian of Clarinda, Iowa; Billy Worl and wife Jenny of Clarinda, Iowa; and Denise Meisinger and husband Rick of Stanton, Iowa; grandchildren: Jaxon and Madelyn Baumbach of New Braunfels, Texas; Nicklaus and Giselle Baumbach of Euless, Texas; Jamie Beals of San Diego, California; Andrew Enarson of Iowa City, Iowa; Megan Guffey of Red Oak, Iowa; Jared Meisinger of Stanton, Iowa; Kevin Worl of Clarinda, Iowa; Jacob Worl of New Market, Iowa; and Jacqueline Worl of Clarinda, Iowa; sisters: Nancy Carnahan and husband Clark of Edwards, Colorado and Alice Williamsen and husband Dale of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers: Ron Baumbach of Nodaway, Iowa; Ed Baumbach and wife Penny of Marshalltown, Iowa; and Donald Baumbach of Council Bluffs, Iowa; three half brothers: Norman Fisher of Glenwood, Iowa; Steve Hardman and wife Pam of Pittsview, Alabama; and Danny Fisher and wife Tara of Troy, Pennsylvania; step sister: Julie Betz and husband Butch of San Antonio, Texas and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, May 12, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8:30 PM Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
