Birthplace: Silver City, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Darrell Marlin Williams, age 88, of Red Oak, Iowa formerly Silver City, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society in Red Oak. Darrell was born February 7, 1927 near Silver City, Iowa the son of William and Ethel (Baker) Williams. He was raised near Silver City and started farming with his dad at a very young age. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Talbott on May 6, 1962 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived on the family farm near Silver City, Iowa for many years. Darrell farmed, raised cattle, hogs, and sheep and truly loved living on the land. He had a love of Belgian Draft Horses and was quite talented in working with leather and harnesses. He was a great cook and was known for his baking. Darrell truly enjoyed life and this was evident in the way he loved visiting with people. Darrell and Bonnie moved to Red Oak six years ago and lived at Acorn Acres. Preceding him in death were his parents; 8 sisters; and 7 brothers. Survivors include his wife: Bonnie Williams of Red Oak, IA; daughter: Vicki Lorenz and fiance Phil Allen of Griswold, IA; son: Bill Williams and wife Sandy of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Daniel Williams of Red Oak, IA; Kimberly Williams of Villisca, IA; Michael Williams of Red Oak, IA; and Matthew Williams of Red Oak, IA; Ashley Klindt and husband Erik of Henderson, IA; Annie Peterson and husband Craig of Council Bluffs, IA; and Austin Lorenz of Griswold, IA; great grandchildren: Addisyn and Kolbe Klindt and Dakota and Dalan Peterson; sisters-in-law: Wanda Williams of Henderson, IA and Marno Talbott of Roswell, NM; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Silver City, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
