Darlene Marie Lijedahl, age 99, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away December 12, 2021, in Albuquerque. Darlene was born August 28, 1922, in Imogene, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Gladys (Reed) Pritchard. She graduated from Red Oak High School and later was united in marriage to Elvin Liljedahl on September 16, 1942, in Essex, Iowa. They lived in Essex for many years and then Griswold, Iowa. After Elvin passed away, Darlene moved to Red Oak, Iowa. She worked for Union Carbide Battery Company for many years retiring in 1985. Darlene was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Red Oak. In 2006, Darlene moved to be closer to her daughter Pat and her husband Steve. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Elvin. Survivors include her daughter: Pat Adams and husband Steve of Albuquerque, NM; son: Larry Liljedahl of Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada; 5 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside memorial services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, December 31, 2021, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
