Dale Thomas "Tom" Sowers, age 78, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Accura Healthcare of Stanton, Iowa. Tom was born November 4, 1944, in Montgomery County, Iowa, the son of Edgar and Mary M. "Bette" (Johnson) Sowers. He graduated from Nishna Valley High School in 1962. Over the years, he worked many jobs before starting a long career with the Natural Gas Pipeline at Emerson, Iowa. Tom was united in marriage to Connie Crowe and three children were born to this union: Troy, Todd, and Stacie. The family lived in Henderson for many years. Tom moved to Red Oak about 30 years ago. Tom also did a lot of plumbing and electrical work throughout the years.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother: Buck Sowers. Survivors include his children: Troy Sowers and wife Shar of Warrensburg, MO; Todd Sowers and wife Nikki of Red Oak, IA; and Stacie Hamilton and husband Brad of Bondurant, IA; grandchildren: McKayla Moore and husband Travis of Warrensburg, MO; Malorie Weiss and husband Ethan of Wentzville, MO; Logan Sowers and wife Naudia of Warrensburg, MO; Tyler Sowers of Red Oak, IA; Cole Sowers of Shenandoah, IA; and Rylie Hamilton and Reece Hamilton of Bondurant, IA; great grandchildren: Emersyn, Benson, Hollisyn, Rowan, Barrett, Lincoln, and Griffen; brothers: Dewey Sowers and wife Marsha of Red Oak, IA and Larry Sowers and wife Annie of Arizona; his companion of many years: Ruth Vanderhoof of Red Oak, IA; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held, 2 PM Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the First Covenant Church. Burial will be in the Farm Creek Cemetery at Henderson, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
