Birthplace: Mills County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Dale H. Miller, age 86, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at the Good Samaritan Care Center after an extended illness. Dale Houston Miller was born March 22, 1916 in rural Mills County, Iowa the son of Leech and Ada (Shook) Miller. He attended country school near Emerson and also Emerson High School. As a young man he started farming with his Dad and during that time was united in marriage to Marguerite Dodson on August 16, 1939 in Rockport, Missouri. Dale and Marguerite started farming on their own in 1940. Dale lived and farmed all of his life in Mills and Montgomery County, Iowa moving into Red Oak in 1983. He was a member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Wayne Miller. Survivors include his wife: Marguerite Miller of Red Oak, Iowa; daughters: Beverly Hubbard of Overland Park, Kansas; Barbara Carey and her husband Ronald of Bellevue, Nebraska; and Nancy Pearson and her husband Roderic of Green Valley, Arizona; grandchildren: Jeffrey Porter and his wife Lori of Magnolia, Texas; Andrea Fuchs and her husband Lonni of Overland Park, Kansas; Cynthia Porter of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Gregory Porter and his wife Dawn of Clovis, California; Wendy Starr and her husband Thomas of Clovis, California; Robert Murray and his wife Chris of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Brian Murray and his wife Melissa of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Rick Pearson and his wife Kelly of Charlotte, North Carolina; Joni Underwood of Omaha, Nebraska; Rob Pearson and his fiancé Julie of Rock Island, Illinois; and Jon Pearson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 25 great grandchildren; sister: Pauline Hogzett of Oakland, Iowa; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, December 14, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Pastor Suzanne Hewett officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, December 13, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church or the Red Oak Rescue Unit. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
