Obituary

Craig Allen Euken, age 84, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his home. Craig was born May 5, 1941, in Dexter, Iowa, the son of Herman and Frances (Sien) Euken. He was raised in the Anita area before moving to Clarinda. He graduated from Clarinda High School in 1960 and was united in marriage to Judy Foster on November 12, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri. Craig attended technical training in Kansas City for auto body repair. Through the years they lived in Kansas City, Missouri, Osceola, Iowa, and Shenandoah, Iowa before moving to Red Oak, Iowa, in 1967. Craig worked for Union Carbide Eveready for many years and Grays Body Shop. He retired from Eveready in 1993. Craig was a past member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and currently a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, trips to Viking Lake to fish, family trips, taking the kids to the pool in the "Swimming Pool" car, and the backyard pool. The things he enjoyed most were his wife, family and friends, whom he loved dearly, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Preceding him in death were his parents; Judy's parents: Boyd and Eva Foster; wife: Judy Euken; brother: Dennis Euken; sisters-in-law: Molly Euken and Joan Warner; brothers-in-law: Mike Kling and Charles Warner; and niece: Andi Euken. Survivors include his sons: Mark Euken and wife Teresa of Red Oak and Scott Euken and wife Carol of Omaha, NE; daughters: Sueann French and husband Dale of Red Oak and Meshell Billings and husband Bill of Red Oak; grandchildren: Whitney Grubbs of Council Bluffs, IA; Bradley Euken and fiancé Caitlin of Chicago, IL; Alix Carlson and husband Tony of Red Oak; Jazmin Euken Crosby and husband Stepan of Ankeny, IA; McKenna Colvin of Omaha, NE; Chloe French and partner Jason Sickels of Red Oak; Gabi Pederson and husband Rulin of Sioux City, IA; Gavin French and wife Brianna of Virginia Beach, VA; Jessica DeMarce and husband Rudee of Red Oak; Jake Payne and wife Molly of Elliott, IA; and Courtney Leinen and husband Nick of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren: Mason, Marshall, Audrey, Ella, Boyd, Porter, Jace, Corbin, Harlow, Legion, Aniston, Carter, Crew, Cillian, Ava, Ben, Waylon, Olivia, Ellie, and Maxwell; sister-in-law: Joyce Kling of Fairmont, MN; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including his long-term very special caregiver, Angie McArdle as well as his more recent caregiver Paige Eubank.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday November 16, 2025, at LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery near Wiota, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the family of Craig Euken for future designation.
