Birthplace: Iowa City, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak,Iowa Cory Thomas Luft, age 39, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Cory was born July 21, 1977 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Pat and Sandy (Moore) Luft. He was raised in Exira, Iowa and Grinnell, Iowa graduating from Grinnell High School in 1996. He served in the United States Air Force before going to Des Moines Area Community College and later AIU. Cory was united in marriage to Angelina Bick on December 31, 1998 in Tama, Iowa. Two children were born to this union: Cloey and Zander. Angelina preceded him in death in 2010. Cory was later united in marriage to Holly Peterson on September 18, 2011 in Glenwood, Iowa. After his marraige to Holly, Cory was the proud father of two more children: Paige and Maddox. He worked in nursing home administration in Wayne, Nebraska, Montezuma and Harlan, Iowa, Omaha, Nebraska, Sioux City, Davenport, and Griswold, Iowa before being the Administrator at the Gardenview Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa. Cory was a member of the Central Church of Christ, the Iowa Healthcare Association, and the American Healthcare Association. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, trap shooting, golfing, cooking, and baking. He also loved mowing. Preceding him in death were his wife: Angelina in 2010, niece, Elizabeth Wiskus, and uncles: Robert and John Luft. Survivors include his wife: Holly Luft of Red Oak; children: Cloey, Zander, Paige, and Maddox Luft all of Red Oak; parents: Pat and Sandy Luft of Altoona, IA; siblings: Erin Luft-Wiskus and husband Michael of Altoona; Dr. Michael Luft and wife Sara of Denison, IA; Patricia Luft and spouse Michelle West of North Platte, NE; Amy Fritz and husband Michael of Altoona; and Jennifer Tinnermeier and husband Charles of Panora, IA; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth and Jan Peterson of Elliott, IA; brother-in-law: Shawn Peterson and wife Cheri of Spirit Lake, IA; sister-in-law: Becky Treasure and husband Matt of Lincoln, NE; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Central Church of Christ in Griswold, Iowa. Burial will be in the Waveland Township Cemetery near Elliott, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
