Birthplace: Page County, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Corrine Nelson, age 93, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away November 26, 2010, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Ruth Edna Corrine Hultman Nelson was born January 3, 1917 at the family home near Nyman, Iowa. She was the daughter of Fred and Edna Mainquist Hultman. She was the 5th child of six children. She was raised in rural Red Oak where she attended Green Park Country School. Corrine graduated from Red Oak High School in 1935. Following graduation she taught for nine years in the country schools. Corrine was united in marriage to Daniel Nelson on December 25, 1943 at the Fremont Covenant Church near Essex, Iowa. This union was blessed with one daughter, Nancy. Corrine was a member of the Fremont Covenant Church where she was active in Covenant Women, sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She attended First Covenant Church in Red Oak for many years and was a member of the Nyman Birthday Club. Corrine was a quiet woman, with a big heart. Delight was her daughter Nancy, her grand-daughters Melanie and Natalie and great-grandchildren, Gage and Libby. Randy, Rollie and Josh also brought great joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Maurice, Curtis (Mamie), Marvin (Edna), and Carl (Dora), sister, Margaret; sisters-in-law Dorothy (Harry), Louise (Quentin, Bill) and the love of her life, Daniel. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Nancy Quist and husband Randy; her granddaughters, Melanie Weston and husband Rollie; Natalie Wedemeier and husband Josh; great grandchildren Gage and Libby Weston; brother-in-law Lester Pearson; other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, November 29, 2010 at the First Covenant Church with Rev. Alan Dean officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Nyman, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, November 28, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
