Birthplace: Omaha, NE Resided In: Red Oak, IA Connor Michael Smith, age 18, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Connor was born August 15, 1996 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of Charles Lantz, Jr. and Valerie Smith. He was a senior at the Red Oak Community High School. Connor was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan who loved art and movies. He loved everyone he knew and with his great sense of humor brought joy, love, and laughter to many. He was very wise beyond his years and his favorite person was his younger brother, Chase. Survivors include his mother: Valerie Smith of Red Oak, IA; father: Charles Lantz, Jr. of Coolidge, AZ; step-father: Chris Rainey of Glenwood, IA; brother: Chase Rainey of Red Oak, IA; grandparents: Dennis and Paula Smith of Davenport, IA; Dan and Vicki Pratt of Red Oak, IA; and Charles, Sr. and Mary Lantz of Coolidge, AZ; great grandparents: Gene and Betty Smith of Villisca, IA; Jim and Alice Johnson of Red Oak, IA; and Darrell Pratt of Red Oak, IA; many aunts and uncles including: Melissa Gallant and Aaron Ungry of Council Bluffs, IA and Keri Ann Lantz-Giles of Coolidge, AZ; many cousins including: Kirsten, Amberly, and Dalen Gallant and Frasier Dew all of Council Bluffs, IA; special friend: Elizabeth Pokorny of Omaha, NE; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. Cremation will take place after the funeral and burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
