Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Boulder, Colorado Colleen Little, age 73, of Boulder, Colorado formerly of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, October 17, 2002 in Boulder, Colorado. Colleen LaVonne Little was born April 24, 1929 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy (Copeland) Waage. She graduated from Red Oak High School and later married Bill Little on May 15, 1949 in Red Oak, Iowa. They honeymooned in California and made it their home for many years. They lived in Torrance, California for over 25 years before moving to Wofford Heights. After Bill's death in 1989 Colleen moved to her son's hometown of Atascadero, California until 1996 when she moved to Boulder, Colorado to be near her daughter. She was looking forward to moving into her home she purchased in Zellwood, Florida to be close to her special friend, Wally McLaughlin. Colleen was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star in Wofford Heights, a P.E.O. member in Atascadero and Boulder, and was a member of the Methodist Church. Colleen was always "on the go". She loved to travel, visiting friends and family along the way. Before Bill's death in 1989, they toured all fifty state capitals. Colleen also traveled abroad. Most recently, she enjoyed a trip to Rome with her dear friend, Colleen Colley. She also loved to cook, entertain, play cards, fish and watch ball games. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother: Stephen Waage; and husband: Bill Little on July 5, 1989. Survivors include her son: Gaylen Little and his wife Ann of Atascadero, California; daughter: Pam Colley and her husband Craig of Boulder, Colorado; 4 grandchildren: Stephanie and Jennifer Little of Elsah, Illinois; Chris Colley of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and Nic Colley of Boulder, Colorado; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held October 28, 2002, 11:00 am at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. A memorial service will be held November 2, 2002, 3:00 pm at the Niwot United Methodist Church in Boulder, Colorado. A memorial service will also be held in Atascadero, California, to be arranged at a later date. Contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
