Cody James McAlpin, age 43, of Omaha, Nebraska formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with blood cancer. Cody was born January 14, 1981, in Red Oak, Iowa, the son of Rod and Robina (Courtney) McAlpin. He graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1999 and received an engineering degree from UNO. Cody spent his adult years in Omaha with his wife and life partner of 24 years Kaley McAlpin Draper. Cody and Kaley had a passion for exploring breweries, Scriptown being one of their favorites. They enjoyed traveling to places like New York City and Las Vegas. Cody had a passion for his work as a land surveyor and worked on several projects around Omaha. His entire life, Cody was the epitome of kind. He was a friend to many and always willing to help anyone in need. His quick wit and gentle disposition attracted people to him. Cody was an amazing husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, and an avid Husker, Detroit Lions, and Yankees fan.

Cody is survived by his wife Kaley McAlpin Draper of Omaha; parents: Robina Courtney and husband Gary Bergren of Red Oak, IA, and Rod McAlpin and wife Connie of Red Oak, IA; step-father: Mike Kidwell of Red Oak, IA; grandmother: Velma Courtney of Red Oak, IA; siblings: Ryan McAlpin of Red Oak, IA; Destiny McAlpin and Steve Childs of Stanton, IA; Landon McAlpin and wife Jacy of Omaha, NE, Trevor McAlpin and wife Kaitlin of Red Oak, IA; step-brothers: Jeff Hillhouse of Red Oak, IA and Tyler Walz and wife Whitney of New York Mills, MN; parents in law: Lynne and Rich Draper of Omaha, NE; brother in law: Kamden Draper and wife Kari of Omaha, NE; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 1-4 PM Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the McAlpin Place in Red Oak, Iowa.
