Clyde R. Sellers, Jr., 84, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Clyde was born October 1, 1941, in Montgomery County, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Lois (Woods) Sellers. Clyde was raised throughout southwest Iowa. He attended Stennett and Red Oak schools. Clyde was united in marriage to Nadine Lasley on June 29, 1962, in Red Oak, Iowa. He worked at R.K. Belt and Sons, delivered propane, Batten Sanitation, Red Oak Transfer, and farmed for many years. Clyde led a life of service. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard from 1961-1967. He volunteered throughout the community. He was a courier for the MCMH Auxiliary and delivered Meals on Wheels. Clyde was a member of the Montgomery County Court of Honor and participated in many parades, memorial and veteran services and was part of many military honors services for veterans. He was a member of the Stratton Community Church and served as trustee. He and Nadine were recently honored for his support and service to the Red Oak Music Boosters. Clyde enjoyed woodworking, carpentry work, Cardinals baseball and International tractors. He always took care of his family and enjoyed helping people.

Survivors include his wife Nadine Sellers of Red Oak, IA; children: Mark Sellers and wife Kelly of Aurora, NE; Mike Sellers and wife Vicki of Red Oak, IA; Missy Torbett and husband Don of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Alex Sellers of Aurora, NE; Melissa Sellers of Lincoln, NE; Geoff Sellers and wife Lydia of Urbandale, IA; Jake Sellers of Storm Lake, IA; Erika Driver of Red Oak, IA; Brandon Updegrove and wife Sarah of Plano, IA; Donnie Torbett and wife Kaitlyn of Bellevue, NE; Nadine Stewart and husband Ethan of Red Oak, IA; and Lena Torbett of Red Oak, IA; great grandchildren: Lucas Walker, Naomi Sellers, Kohen Sellers, Jameson Sellers, Jonah Stewart, Isaac Stewart, Riley Driver, and Roman Driver; siblings: Judy Maxell of Red Oak, IA; Tom Sellers and wife Sheila of Drake, CO; Jeanette Demanett and husband Raymond of Shenandoah, IA; Terry Sellers and wife Mary of Red Oak, IA; Jeff Sellers and wife Betty of Gretna, NE; Art Sellers and wife Cindy of Council Bluffs, IA; sisters-in-law: Sharon Hultquist and husband Ron of Red Oak, IA; and Lois Hartley and husband Joe of Clinton, MO; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service with military honors will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, September 21, 2026, at LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the memorial service from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Stratton Community Church or the Montgomery County Memorial Court of Honor.
