Birthplace: Chandlerville, Illinois Resided In: Sidney, OH Clara E. "Toots" Taylor, age 75 of Sidney, Ohio formerly of Emerson, Iowa passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the Sidney Care Center in Sidney, Ohio. Clara Ellen "Toots" Taylor was born November 1, 1929 in Chandlerville, Illinois the daughter of LaVern and Matilda (Blake) Rhodes. Clara was raised and attended school in Chandlerville. After school she was united in marriage to Walter Taylor on January 22, 1946 in Virginia, Illinois. They lived in many different places throughout the country while Walter was a truck driver for 46 years. Toots was a waitress and a nurses aid for many years. Toots and Walter moved to Emerson, Iowa in 1985 where Walter worked for Charlie Phelps and Viner Trucking. Walter preceded Toots in death on November 2, 1993. Toots moved to Sidney, Ohio in 1999 to be near her daughter, Phyllis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Walter; brother: Clifford; and 2 sisters: Mable and Ilene. Survivors include her daughter: Phyllis Weaver of St. Paris, Ohio; 4 grandchildren: Tammy Zehner of Sidney, Ohio; Walter Weaver, Jr and wife Beth of Degraff, Ohio; Shawn Weaver and wife Wendy of Christiansburg, Ohio; and Crystal Scott of St. Paris, Ohio; 6 great grandchildren: Sarah Schoonover of Lewistown, Illinois; Dylan Scott of St. Paris, Ohio; Ashley Weaver of Sidney, Ohio; and Gracie, MaKayla, and Christopher Weaver all of Degraff, Ohio; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, March 14, 2005 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak with Rev. Larry Pries officiating. Burial will be in the Hastings, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 1-2 PM Monday, March 14, 2005 at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
