Birthplace: Burlington, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Cindy Lou Wendt, age 66, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at her home. Cindy was born June 6, 1952 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Wilbert Wayne and Grace Ethel (Havel) Coulter. The family moved to Red Oak in 1956 and Cindy graduated from Red Oak High School in 1970. She worked at Kit-n-Kaboodle and babysat for many years before starting to work for Fountain Square Pharmacy. She was united in marriage to Fred Wendt on November 1, 1975 in Red Oak, Iowa. Cindy was a lifelong resident of Red Oak and retired from Red Oak Pharmacy in 2011. Her hobbies included watching TV and quoting television commercials. She was an avid gardener, Kansas City Chiefs Fan, and an Iowa Hawkeyes Fan. But her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Fred on June 20, 2012; her brother: John "Mike" Coulter; and sister: Debra Ervin. Survivors include her son: Aaron Wendt and wife Heidi of Red Oak, IA; daughter: Lindsey Vogel and husband Richard of Graham, MO; 7 grandchildren: Madison, Kamryn, and Tori Wendt of Red Oak, IA; Dalton, Colton, and Cambree Maupin of Graham, MO; and Sophia Vogel of Graham, MO; sister: Melody Bourn and husband Jim of Red Oak, IA; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Reynolds of Red Oak, IA and Beverly Cleland and husband Steve of Red Oak, IA; brothers-in-law: Larry Wendt and wife Cindy of Warsaw, MO and Gary Ervin of Maryville, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including her faithful companion: "Sassy Jo" the Yorkie. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, December 24, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will take place from 4-6 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
