Cheryl Lou Reynolds, age 78, of Elliott, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Cheryl was born April 17, 1944, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd Thomas and Roselda Lulu (Wohlenhaus) Jennings. She graduated from Elliott High School in 1962 and worked for the telephone company in Red Oak. Cheryl was united in marriage to Dennis Reynolds on July 20, 1963 in Lyman, Iowa. They have lived their entire married life near Elliott, Iowa. She helped run the family farm, worked at the Griswold Apple Orchard, and was a cook for the Elliott School retiring after 31 years with the Griswold Community School District. She also did janitorial work. Cheryl was a member of the Elliott Church of Christ and the Just Us Girls Club. She was always very active with all the children's activities including 4 H Projects, especially baking. Cheryl was a great cook and was known for her cinnamon rolls at the school. She was voted by the students as a KMA Radio Station "Greatest Cook" in 2013. Cheryl loved spending time with her grandchildren and helping them with all of their projects and enjoyed gardening.
Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband: Dennis Reynolds of Elliott, IA; children: Tami Weirich of Griswold, IA; Denny Reynolds and wife Sue of Griswold, IA; Jeff Reynolds and wife Kellie of Red Oak, IA; Lisa Mundorf and husband Greg of Glade Park, CO; and Michael Reynolds and wife Kristan of Molina, CO; grandchildren: Melissa Weirich of Griswold, IA; Justin Weirich and wife Ashley of Council Bluffs, IA; Sara Coley and husband Seth of Council Bluffs, IA; Dakota Reynolds of Griswold, IA; Keyla Wyman and husband JC of Griswold, IA; Collins Reynolds of Red Oak, IA; Chance Mundorf of Boseman, MT; and Ryder Mundorf of Glade Park, CO; great grandchildren: Rhett, Brielle, Rawlins, Bode, Brystal, and Brynli; sisters: Diane Hart and husband Bill of Omaha, NE and Pam Ayres and husband Rich of Red Oak, IA; brothers-in-law: Les Reynolds of Omaha, NE; Lyle Reynolds and wife Mary Ann of Omaha, NE; and Butch Reynolds of Elliott, IA; sisters-in-law: Pat Vestal and husband Charlie of Emerson, IA and Karen Milner and husband Dick of Elliott, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Church of Christ in Elliott, Iowa. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Elliott, Iowa. Visitation with the family will beheld from 5-7 PM Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa.
