Charlotte D. Pierson, age 89, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society. Charlotte was born September 21, 1934 in Griswold, Iowa the daughter of Eligah and Bessie (Sowers) Kinser.  She was raised in Griswold. Charlotte was united in marriage to Richard Pierson on July 14, 1950 in Atlantic, Iowa. They made their home near Griswold, Iowa and later moved to Elliott, Iowa. In 1958, the family moved to the Red Oak area. Charlotte sold Stanley Home Products for many years before starting a long career with Red Oak Community Schools as a bus driver. She and Richard loved traveling in their motorhome and wintered in Arizona for many years. Charlotte enjoyed tending to her flowers, embroidery, camping, baking, cooking, and in her early years enjoyed bowling. Charlotte was a long-time Red Oak Eagles Lodge member.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband:  Richard Pierson; siblings: Glen Kinser, Gail Kinser, and Onie Clark; grandson: Jerame Pierson, and great granddaughter, Ali Pierson. Survivors include her children: John Pierson and wife Kris of Reno, Nevada; Quintin Pierson of Hastings, Iowa; Milton Pierson and wife Katie of Houston, Texas; Gwendolyn Pierson-Geer and husband Rob of Red Oak; and Vernon Pierson and wife Kelli of Red Oak; 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; sisters: Goldie Adams of Red Oak and C.B. Williams of Clarinda, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, at 1995 G Avenue in Red Oak. There will be open viewing from 3-5 PM Monday, January 1, 2023, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
