Charlotte Ann Lee, age 88, of Red Oak, Iowa, formerly of Emerson, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society. Charlotte was born October 15, 1934, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Charlie and Erma (Frazee) Phillips. She was raised in Centerville, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Donald Lee on January 6, 1951, in Unionville, Missouri. Three children were born to this union: Donald Craig "Donnie", Connie Sue, and Michael Scott. They lived many places throughout Iowa during Don's education career including Neola and Emerson, Iowa. Charlotte was a homemaker who was very involved in community activities. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving in many capacities at the local, regional, and state level. She was an active volunteer with the Special Olympics, Special Arts Festival, and the Glenwood Resource Center, where her son, Mike resides. Charlotte was a volunteer for the schools and was a member of the Emerson Library Board for many years. Charlotte won the Governor's Volunteer Award more than once. Her hobbies included gardening, tending her flowers, crocheting, sewing, quilting, baking, cooking, cake decorating, doing crafts, collecting sports cards with her grandchildren, and doing genealogy.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Don Lee on October 14, 2018; son: Donnie Lee; and all of her siblings. Survivors include her daughter: Connie Bowen of Emerson, IA; son: Michael Lee of Glenwood, IA; grandchildren: Joshua Bowen and wife Laura of Imogene, IA; Nathan Bowen and wife Bailey of Hastings, IA; Bryan Bowen and wife Kylie of Red Oak, IA; Craig Lee and wife Cyndy of Omaha, NE; and Heather Brown of Clarinda, IA; great grandchildren: Molly, Emma, Zane, Boyd, and Nole Bowen and Payton and Devin Brown; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak with burial in the Emerson Cemetery at Emerson, Iowa. A luncheon and visitation will follow the interment at the Emerson Community Building.
