Birthplace: Council Bluffs, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Charles Raymond "Charlie" Shetterly, age 71, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society. Charlie was born May 3, 1946 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of Max and Amanda (Roller) Shetterly. He was raised in the Walnut and Oakland area graduating from Oakland High School in 1962. He was united in marriage to Susan Ross on December 26, 1967 and served in the United States Army until 1969. Over the years, Charlie farmed, worked for De Hardy Construction, Parker Hannifin Corporation, and Henningsen Construction. After being together for a long time, Charlie and Wanda Woods were united in marriage on Valentine's Day one year. He was a member of the American Legion, Montgomery County Court of Honor, Red Oak Eagles Club, Eagles Motorcycle Club, and delivered "Meals on Wheels". Charlie's hobbies included woodworking, reading western books, especially Louis L'Amour, and NASCAR Racing. He also built race cars at one time. Preceding him in death were his parents; infant sons: Trevor and Tracy; and brother: David Shetterly. Survivors include his wife Wanda Woods of Red Oak, IA; daughter: Angela Shetterly of Red Oak, IA; step-children: Mark Woods of Red Oak, IA and Clint Woods and wife Cindy Gillaspie of Johnston, IA; grandchildren: Dahlton Briggs and wife Amanda of Villisca, IA; Dixson Briggs of Red Oak, IA; Devon Briggs of Red Oak, IA; Eva Woods of Red Oak, IA; and Conor and Aidan Woods of Johnston, IA; great grandchildren: Lyllie and Scarlett Briggs and Sydney Gamble; sister: Mary Ellen Schipansky and husband Darrell of Villisca, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society Chapel in Red Oak. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services
