Charles F. "Chuck" Riggle, Jr., age 77, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at his home unexpectedly. Chuck was born September 27, 1946, in Chariton, Iowa, the son of Charles F. Riggle, Sr. and Margaret (Swinscoe) Riggle. He was raised in the Tabor area where he attended school. Charles was united in marriage to Geraldine Hanson in March of 1964. Five children were born to this union: Jo Ann, Lora, Kristina, Sandra, and Charles Joseph. After marriage, they lived near Hastings, Iowa where Chuck worked for the Bruce family. Later, they moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa and Chuck eventually moved to Red Oak, Iowa, in 1977. He was united in marriage to Betty Schenck on October 16, 1977, in Red Oak, Iowa. They made their home in Red Oak. One child was born to this union: Amanda. Chuck worked as a mechanic for many years working on heavy machinery. He retired from Cashatt and Sons Construction after 18 years. Chuck's life changed when he accepted the Lord as his Savior and became involved with Faith Community Church. He worked with the youth group and enjoyed Men's Bible Study. Betty preceded Chuck in death, and he was later united in marriage to Barbara Marshall on June 2, 2012, in Branson, Missouri. He loved tinkering with things and could fix anything from engines to gadgets. He was quite talented at woodworking and gardening as well.

Survivors include his wife: Barbara Riggle of Red Oak; children: Lora Stahl and husband Herb of Blair, NE; Kristina Hadden and husband Mark of Overland Park, KS; Sandra Sousek and husband Jeff of Prague, NE; Joe Riggle and wife Tara of Craig, NE; and Amanda Riggle of Red Oak; step-children: Chad Marshall and wife Meb of Papillion, NE and Tiffany Hansen and husband Robert of Ralls, TX; grandchildren: Jessica Rounds and fiancé Roger Hester of Omaha, NE; Sarah Sunday and husband Scott of Grand Island, NE; Michaela Sueverkruepp and husband Derick of Blair, NE; Cassandra Stahl of Blair, NE; Hannah Schroeder and husband Nick of Blair, NE; Madison Hadden of Overland Park, KS; Samantha Sousek of Prague, NE; Jacob Sousek of Prague, NE; Harrison Riggle and fiancé Maggie Berryman of N. Bend, NE; Faith Riggle of Craig, NE; Joseph Riggle of Craig, NE; Allison Klitzke and husband Parker of Lincoln, NE; Kimberly Rivera and husband Sam of Lubbock, TX; Mavrick Hansen of Lorenzo, TX; Robert Hansen II and wife Kaelene of Hale Center, TX; Savannah Hansen of Lubbock, TX; Chloe Hansen of Lubbock, TX; Betsy Hansen of Ralls, TX; and Sawyer Hansen of Ralls, TX; 13 great grandchildren; sister: Toni Kesterson of Red Oak; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 14, 2023, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel new location at 1995 G Ave. in Red Oak. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
