Birthplace: Red Oak, IA Resided In: Georgetown, KY formerly Red Oak Cathryn Joanne Fort, age 83, of Georgetown, Kentucky formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Dover Manor in Georgetown, Kentucky. Cathryn was born August 29, 1931 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Ralph and Gertrude (Bauer) Buehler. She was raised in Red Oak graduating from Red Oak High School in 1949. Cathryn was united in marriage to Robert Fort on July 9, 1950 in Red Oak where they lived all of their married life. Cathryn was a Nurses Aid and a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Cathryn enjoyed knitting and doing needlework. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother: Darwin Buehler; and husband Robert Fort on February 11, 2011. Survivors include her children: Marce Larson and husband Jerry of Georgetown, KY; Teresa Forsyth and husband Kendall of Council Bluffs, IA; and Brian Fort and wife Debra of Pinellas Park, FL; grandchildren: Michelle Boyd and husband Doug of Louisville, KY; Robert Larson and partner Mel Gaskill of Louisville, KY; and Heather Lyons and husband John of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren: Derek and Megan Boyd and Shelby and Noah Larson; brother: Ralph Buehler of Newton, IA; sister: Margery Smith and husband Clinton of Indianola, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church with Pastor Caryn Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 PM Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
