Birthplace: Shenandoah, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Catherine C. "Katie" Selser, age 94, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at her home after an extended illness. Katie was born July 31, 1918 in Shenandoah, Iowa the daughter of John Forest and Mable Mae (Tharp) Ingrim. She graduated from Shenandoah High School and worked for the Highway Commission. Katie was united in marriage to Marion Selser on June 1, 1943 in Alexandria, Ohio where they lived until 1945 when they moved to Red Oak, Iowa. Katie was a homemaker and a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge of the International Order of Oddfellows. She enjoyed raising tropical fish, playing cards, antiquing, traveling and going to coffee with friends. She was also known to have a green thumb. Katie was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Marion on December 21, 1991; brothers: Wendell, Robert and Junior Ingrim; and sisters: Rilda Phillips and Viola Carpenter. Survivors include her brothers: Roscoe Ingrim of Riverside, CA and Ray Ingrim and wife Warrene of Erie, CO; nieces and nephews: Marsha Phillips Larson, Connie Schulte, Dennis Ingrim, Beverly Lindsey, Patty Johnston, John Carpenter, Carol Thomas, Kay Condon, Robert Ingrim, Jr., Judy Miller, and Rick, Randy, Mark, and Susan Ingrim; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Caryn Pedersen officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Memorials are suggested to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements
