Birthplace: Monroe County, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Carolyn Alberta McCunn, age 84, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Carolyn was born July 23, 1930 in Monroe County, Iowa the daughter of LeRoy McVey and Frankie Louise Stansberry. At an early age Carolyn moved to Red Oak, Iowa where she was raised by Ike and Essie Anderson. She was united in marriage to Daryl "Deane" McCunn on December 10, 1948 in Red Oak, Iowa. They lived in Red Oak and later moved to their farm outside of Red Oak. Carolyn was a homemaker who loved the outdoors, her flowers, and spending time with her family. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Deane on December 25, 1999; sisters: Kay Hardy and Colleen McCunn; brother: Richard Brown; and son-in-law: Gary Westover. Survivors include her children: Mike McCunn and wife Connie; Lori Westover, Mark McCunn and wife Suzy; and Lisa Miller and husband Jody all of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Shawn McCunn and wife Jana of Stanton, IA; Jason McCunn and wife Naomi of Red Oak, IA; Dillon Weeks of Red Oak, IA; Brandon McCunn and wife Stephanie of Crestline, OH; Jacob McCunn and Mechiel Magill of Carson, IA; Logan Cashatt, Karen Miller, Ammie Miller, Jody Miller, Jr., Brian Vrba and wife Julie, Stacy Perez, and Jed Westover all of Red Oak, IA; and Jeff Vrba and wife Tiffany of Clarinda, IA; many great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Mary Lou McCunn of Red Oak, IA; Betty McCunn of Greenfield, IA; Diane McCunn of Orion, IL; Ardell McCunn of Massena, IA; and Becky Taylor of Rockford, IL; brothers-in-law: Newt McCunn and wife Carolyn of Onawa, IA; Sam Drennen of Council Bluffs, IA; and Lowell Hardy of Emerson, IA; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
