Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Carolyn Sarah Finchem, age 78, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Carolyn was born November 25, 1937 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Harold E. and Blanche O. (Massengale) Lasley. She was raised in Red Oak where she attended school. At a young age, Carolyn worked at Moore's Donut Shop, Rainbow Cafe and also did babysitting. In 1975, she moved to Colorado where she was a waitress and a cook for twenty years. She moved back to Red Oak in 1995 where she retired. Carolyn was a former Eagles Lodge member. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and tending to her flowers, soap operas, adventures with her sisters and the coffee group, and spoiling her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers: Marion, Darold, Donald, David, Kenny, Doug, and Dennis Lasley. Survivors include her daughter: Debra Hanshaw of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Jebb Frink and wife Shelby of Omaha, NE; Kaleb Frink and wife Ann of Omaha, NE; and Misty Johnson and husband Josh of Manhattan, KS; great grandchildren: Taylor Bowman, Devin Rediger, Rachel Bowman, Parker Meier, Jordan Frink, Kaleb Frink, and Emma Johnson; brothers and sisters: Darleen Templeton of Corning, IA; Darvin Lasley and wife Ruth of Central Point, OR; Jack Lasley and wife Kay of Red Oak, IA; Barbara Straight and husband Larry of Emerson, IA; Joyce Black and husband Floyd of Anaheim, CA; and Danny Lasley and wife Anita of Bellevue, IA; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service with a memorial luncheon will be held 11 AM Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
