Birthplace: Red Oak, IA Resided In: Villisca, IA Carolyn Jean Bashaw, age 52, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska. Carolyn was born August 14, 1963 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Swanie and Lois (Hartman) Franzen. She grew up in the Stanton area graduating from Stanton High School in 1981. Carolyn was united in marriage to Thomas Bashaw on August 7, 1981 in Villisca, Iowa. She worked for many years at Red Oak Pharmacy as a bookkeeper and most recently as a personal banker for Great Western Bank in Stanton, Iowa. Carolyn and Tom enjoyed spending time at their home at Lake of the Ozarks where Carolyn took up the hobbies of quilting and sewing. She enjoyed making quilts, blankets, and other projects for her grandchildren. Carolyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow and also enjoyed traveling when she and Tom were able. Preceding her in death were her parents and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Herb and Wilma Bashaw. Survivors include her husband: Tom Bashaw of Villisca, IA; daughters: Megan Bashaw and special friend Ryan Padavich of Omaha, NE and Brittany Wiig and husband Josh of Red Oak, IA; son: Joshua Bashaw of Villisca, IA; grandchildren: Lillian and Jackson Padavich of Omaha, NE and Charles and Howard Wiig of Red Oak, IA; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Relay For Life or the Josie Harper Hospice House. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
