Birthplace: Red Oak, IA Resided In: Red Oak, IA Carol Ann Hamilton, age 84, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Carol was born December 18, 1931 in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Donald L. and Ruby Faye (Selser) Hersman. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1949. Before her marriage to Harold E. "Bud" Hamilton on March 11, 1950 in Red Oak, Iowa, Carol worked for a grocery store and the Union Carbide Battery Plant. Carol was an in home daycare provider for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was the Welcome Wagon Hostess for Red Oak for many years. Carol's hobbies included collecting dolls, cat figurines, and Avon bottles. She loved watching TV and movies, sunbathing, writing poetry, and was an avid garage saler. She also had a passion for animals especially cats. She loved her cats. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Bud Hamilton on June 2, 2010; and her sister: Eloise Le Saulnier. Survivors include her children: Sandy Krcilek and husband Budd of Red Oak, IA; Sue England and husband Norm of Carroll, IA; and Doug Hamilton and wife Tina of Fenton, MO; grandchildren: Cole England and wife Christine of Boise, ID; Sara Lasch and husband Matt of Belle Plaine, MN; Dominique Sherman and husband Brian of Imperial, MO; and Christopher Hamilton and special friend, Jessica Bauer of Dittmer, MO; great grandson: Marcus England of Boise, ID; sister-in-law: Donna Hamilton of Oklahoma City, OK; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at a later date at the Salem Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Western Iowa Feral and Homeless Cat Program or the Montgomery County Animal Rescue. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
