Birthplace: Defiance, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Carol Lee Bruce, age 53, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Friday, December 27, 2002 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Carol Lee Bruce was born July 12, 1949 in Defiance, Iowa the daughter of Raymond and Irene (Langenfeld) Domino. She was raised in Defiance and graduated from the Defiance Catholic High School in 1967. She graduated from Iowa Western Community College in Harlan, Iowa with an LPN Degree in 1968. Carol then moved to Red Oak where she worked for the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital and later the Family Medical Clinic. During this time, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Bruce on November 29, 1969 in Defiance, Iowa. Carol was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She also enjoyed her Bible study groups. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 4 brothers-in-law: Keith Bruce; Harold Morrical; Donnie Bruce; and Tom Nicholas. Survivors include her husband: Kenneth Bruce of Red Oak, Iowa; children: Amy Fulton and her husband Joe of Urbandale, Iowa; Scott Bruce and his wife Jennifer of Red Oak, Iowa; Angi Hanson of Red Oak, Iowa; and Anne Smiley and her husband Travis of Red Oak, Iowa; 5 grandchildren: Nathan Fulton; Colin Bruce; Emma Fulton; Carter Bruce; and Nolan Smiley; 3 sisters: Margie Schaben and her husband Ron of Defiance, Iowa; Maxine Schwarte and her husband Gary of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Karen Kramolisch and her husband Jay of Omaha, Nebraska; special aunt: Helen Langenfeld of Harlan, Iowa; 4 sisters-in-law: Eileen Jones and her husband Dale of Emerson, Iowa; Mary Bruce of Hastings, Iowa; Lorraine Morrical of Hastings, Iowa; and Verilee Nicholas of Essex, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father James Kleffman officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Rosary will be held at 6:30 PM Monday, December 30, 2002 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with visitation to follow. Memorials are suggested to the Carol Bruce Memorial Fund. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
