Birthplace: Council Bluffs, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Carl Buck, age 75, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 in Mills County, Iowa. Carl Robert Buck was born July 20, 1927 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of Wilmer and Lillie (Hadlund) Buck. Carl was raised in Council Bluffs and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1945. He attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and Notre Dame University. Carl served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was united in marriage to Neoma L. "Kitty" Buck on March 19, 1949 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Carl and Kitty owned and operated the Dixie Cream Donut Shop in Council Bluffs, Iowa and the Blair Bakery in Blair, Nebraska . They retired in 1990 moving to Omaha. In 1999 Carl and Kitty moved to Shenandoah, Iowa and to Red Oak, Iowa in 2001. Carl was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife: Neoma L. "Kitty" Buck on January 29, 2003; and sister: Lillian Lantis. Survivors include his daughter: Roberta Moser and her husband David of Denver, Colorado; 2 sons: Rev. Dr. Rodger (Rod) Buck and his wife Jolene of Omaha, Nebraska; and Curtiss Buck and his wife Lisa of Vista, California; grandchildren: Betsy Myers and her husband Bill of Omaha, Nebraska; Andrew Moser of Denver, Colorado; and Evan Buck of Vista, California; great grandson: Jesse Ramirez of Omaha, Nebraska; brother: James Buck and his wife Jackie of Highland Village, Texas; sister: Virginia Moats and her husband Bill of Park Rapid, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, July 19, 2003 at the Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 AM at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel to proceed in procession to the cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, July 18, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Gideons or the Grace Baptist Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
