Birthplace: Marne, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa C. Lloyd "Puckett" Miller, age 94, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Lloyd "Puckett" Miller was born March 14, 1914 in Marne, Iowa the son of John Floyd and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Ury) Miller. He was raised in the Marne area where he started farming at a young age. He was united in marriage to Bonita Harris on September 5, 1936 in Atlantic, Iowa. To this union were born three children: Delbert, Phyllis, and Sharon. Puckett moved from Atlantic to Red Oak in 1957. He was united in marriage to Lucille Knop in February of 1971 and she preceded him in death that same year. They had a son: Randy. He later was united in marriage to Geneva Cook on September 28, 1973. She preceded him in death on December 19, 1990. He owned and operated the Elm Tree Motel for several years and worked for Walt Askloff at the Phillips 66 Station. He worked for the Farmers Mercantile and drove for Halvin and Kinnison Truck lines before going to work for American Beef Packing in Oakland where he retired in 1980. He was a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Preceding him in death were his parents; two wives; and brother: Allan Miller. Survivors include his children: Delbert Miller and wife Barbara of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Phyllis Davidson of Kansas City, Missouri; Sharon Rensch of Red Oak, Iowa; and Randy Miller of Kansas City, Missouri; step-children: Tom Rhodes of Red Oak, Iowa; Jeanne Garcia of Palm Desert, California; Larry Ord of Barstow, California; and Jo Ann Nelson of San Bernardino, California; grandchildren: Elizabeth Miller of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Cyndy Kopietz and husband Tim of Romeo, Michigan; Richard Davidson and wife Donna of Santa Fe, Tennessee; Michael Davidson and wife Irene of Kansas City, Missouri; Jeffrey Davidson and wife Meliza of Rock Wall, Texas; Daniel Rensch and Carrie Clark of Red Oak, Iowa; and Kristina Rensch of Omaha, Nebraska; many great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
