Birthplace: Wales, Iowa Resided In: Emerson, Iowa Byron Viner, age 88, of Emerson, Iowa passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2001 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak after an extended illness. Byron Dale Viner, a child of God, son of William and Katherine (Steiner) Viner was born on the family farm near Wales, Iowa on August 5, 1913. He graduated from the Wales High School and began farming, living all of his life on the same farm that he was born. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Triplett on April 2, 1947 in Shenandoah, Iowa. Byron trusted Christ as his Savior early in his life as well as being a charter member of his Sunday School Class in his youth. He was a charter member of the Oaks Community Church where he served in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher in the American Sunday School Union at Oaks Church, Chairman of the Governing Board, Home Bible Study Leader, and was a supporter of missions with the emphasis at Oaks Church his priority. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and a photographer enjoying family pictures and weddings. As well as farming, Byron was a fabricator and a good mechanic. The greatest joys in Byron's life were God, his family, and farming. Preceding him in death were his parents; 5 brothers: Joseph; Vernon; Gerald; Duane; and Merwin; and 3 children: John; Larry; and Susan Viner. Survivors include his wife: Marilyn of Emerson, Iowa; son: Howard Viner and his wife Bonnie of Emerson, Iowa; grandchildren: Lauren; Nick; Anna; and Ellen Viner all of Emerson, Iowa; Tammy Glisan of Red Oak, Iowa; Veriti Webb of Issue, Maryland; and Dennis Waldeman of Florida; dau-in-law: Vickie Viner of Florida; many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; brother: Ralph Viner and his wife Opal of Macedonia, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, October 26, 2001 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dr. William Pritchard officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-8 PM Thursday, October 25, 2001 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Oaks Community Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
