Brooke Nichole Samms, age 24, of Malvern, Iowa formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Brooke was born June 20, 1998, the daughter of Chris and Susan (Nelsen) Samms. She was raised most of her life in Red Oak, Iowa, graduating from Red Oak Community High School in 2016. She worked several different jobs throughout the area and became interested in the health care industry. Currently, Brooke was working at Homestead Assisted Living in Shenandoah, Iowa. She was very creative and enjoyed doing crafts, drawing, and painting. Brooke also loved camping and fishing.

Preceding her in death were grandparents: Virgie and Henry Stamps; Betty amd DuWaine Niklasson; Ray and Berniece Baucom; and Earl and Kathleen Samms. Survivors include her fiancé: Ryan Nelson of Malvern, IA; son: Henry Nelson of Malvern, IA; parents: Susan and Steven Baucom of Red Oak, IA and Chris Samms of Washington; siblings: Katie Baucom, Tyler Baucom, and Cody Baucom of Hector, AR; Donovan Baucom and Isaiah Baucom of Colfax, IA; and Seth Baucom and Olivia Baucom of Red Oak, IA; in-laws: Will and Sherri Nelson of Sidney, IA; sister-in-law: Ashley Duvall of Lakeville, MN; grandparents: Debbie and Dennis Van Scoy of Red Oak, IA; Patty Stamps of Omaha, NE; Steve and Donella Baucom of Emerson, IA; and Rose Dery of Sidney, IA; aunts and uncles: Shelle and Greg Brower of Red Oak, IA; Krystalle and Tim Fada of Red Oak, IA; Holly and Trevor Skalberg of Attleboro, MA; Paul and Christina Baucom of Red Oak, IA; Roxanne Baucom and Allan James of Shenandoah, IA; Curtis Baucom of Red Oak, IA; Missy and Aaron Herman of Omaha, NE; Lisa Green of Randolph, IA; Laura Gilbert and husband Steve of Elkhorn, NE; Jeff Van Scoy and wife Laurie of Elliott, IA; and Dennis Van Scoy, Jr. of Papillion, NE; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Faith Community Church. Viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to the family.
