Birthplace: Waterloo, Iowa Resided In: Villisca, Iowa Blanche A. Nippert, age 87, of Villisca, Iowa passed away Saturday, July 5, 2003 at the Villisca Good Samaritan Center after an extended illness. Blanche A. Nippert was born March 31, 1916 at her parents home in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of John and Catherine (Morgenstern) Brown. The family moved to Davenport, Nebraska when Blanche was 3 years old. She was baptized into the Christian faith at an early age and attended rural school district 65, and graduated from the Davenport High School. She was united in marriage to Howard Nippert on February 14, 1935 in Davenport, Nebraska. To this union were born Duane and LaVera. In 1942, they moved to a farm in rural Villisca, Iowa. Blanche has been a resident of the Villisca Good Samaritan Center for the past year. Blanche and Howard liked to fish and took many fishing trips. In later years she traveled all over the United States. Blanche liked quilting, knitting, crocheting, and tatting. She also enjoyed gardening and her many flowers. She was a member of many neighborhood clubs, the Morton's Mill Church, and the Morton's Mill Ladies Aid. Preceding Blanche in death were her parents; her husband: Howard Nippert on October 18, 1980; half-sister: Evelyn Lambert and her husband Milton; 2 sisters: Alma Lautenshlager and her husband George; and Effie Mae Osborne and her husband Earl; brother: Charles Brown; and a son-in-law: Emory Bridgeford. Survivors include her son: Duane Nippert and his wife Jeanie of Villisca, Iowa; daughter: LaVera Bridgeford of Fillmore, Missouri; 5 grandchildren: Bruce Hattig and his wife Jan of St. Joseph, Missouri; Myron Hattig and his wife Jaylene of Portland, Oregon; Donald Nippert and his wife Chris of Villisca, Iowa; Colleen Hattig Duenow and her husband Dennis of Springfield, Missouri; and RoseAnna Nippert Heinrich and her husband David of New Berlin, Wisconsin; 9 great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the Morton's Mill Church in Morton's Mill, Iowa with Rev. Clarence Landis officiating. Burial will be in the Morton's Mill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, July 7, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak is in charge of arrangements.
