Birthplace: Corning, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Betty J. Wright, age 72, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Betty Jean Wright was born May 9, 1935 in Corning, Iowa the daughter of William Estel and Helen Lucille (Kuhn) Ross. She was raised in the Corning and Nodaway area. She was united in marriage to Merle LeRoy Bentson and to this union three children were born: Pam, Patricia, and David. She later was united in marriage to Robert Orville Wright on December 14, 1964 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska and to this union a daughter was born: Barbara. Betty worked for the Thomas D. Murphy Company and JII until the manufacturing plant in Red Oak was closed. She then worked for CDS for a couple of years. Betty loved sewing, crocheting, putting together puzzles, and working crossword puzzles. But, most of all Betty enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; brother: William "Bill" Ross; niece: Deanna Ross; and nephew: Billy Joe Ross. Survivors include her children: Pam Bentson of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Patricia Terry and husband Lyle of Red Oak, Iowa; David Bentson of Red Oak, Iowa; and Barbara Wright-Wisner and husband Jonathan of Frederick, Colorado; grandchildren: Kimberly Chini and husband Kenny of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; James Bentson and wife Iona of Red Oak, Iowa; Jeremy Bentson of Red Oak, Iowa; Ashley Askeland and husband Cory of Omaha, Nebraska; and Bailey Bentson of Red Oak, Iowa; great grandchildren: MacKenzee Bentson, Elysia Bentson, Zachary Askeland, Keaghon Chini, Logan Chini, and Samuel Askeland; brother: Duane Ross and wife Shirley of Red Oak, Iowa; niece: Teresa Seering and husband J.R. of Wellman, Iowa; nephew: Jeff Ross and wife Tanya of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
