Obituary

Betty Lee Sattro, age 84, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Accura Healthcare of Stanton, Iowa. Betty was born July 4, 1938, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of John and Marie (Liddick) Davis. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1956 and was united in marriage to Earl Andrew "Andy" Sattro, Jr. on June 2, 1956, in Red Oak. Betty worked for JC Penney Co. and Good Samaritan Society before going back to school to get her LPN Degree. She then worked at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in the surgery department. Betty retired from the Family Physicians Clinic after many years of service. She was a member of the Elliott Church of Christ and enjoyed Bible studies. She was also a member of the neighborhood club. Betty loved spending time with her family going to the State Fair, the Clay County Fair, Viking Lake, and Okoboji. She was a wonderful cook who was known for her baking, especially her cookies, and always loved her early morning coffee. Betty also raised a wonderful garden every year.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Andy Sattro on August 28, 2013; and her sisters: Shirley Farnum and Carol Davis. Survivors include her children: Shelle Cashatt and husband Doug of Red Oak, IA; Paula Klepinger and husband Kevin of Emerson, IA; and Michael Sattro and wife Kathy of Red Oak, IA; grandchildren: Chris Cashatt and wife Jennifer of Red Oak, IA; Stacy Querry and husband Travis of Red Oak, IA; Jason Klepinger and wife Anne of Red Oak, IA; Jeremy Klepinger and wife Ashley of Emerson, IA; Jody Klepinger of Oregon, WI; and Sumer Sandholm and husband Brett of Red Oak, IA; 15 great grandchildren; sister: Joyce Gaddis of Killeen, TX; sister-in-law: Marjorie Pike of Henderson, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak, Iowa. Family and friends will gather at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel by 1:30 PM to go to the cemetery in procession. Visitation with the family will be held from 4-6 PM Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Red Oak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association or the Red Oak Music Boosters.

Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
