Betty Ebert Lochbrunner, age 100, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society. Betty was born September 1, 1924, in rural Montgomery County, Iowa, the daughter of Harlan H. and Mary (Dumler) Ebert. In 1939, Betty moved to Louisiana and graduated high school in 1942 in Tallulah. Betty was united in marriage to Phillip Lochbrunner on February 23, 1946, in Lake Providence, Louisiana. They moved to Tyler, Texas, in 1949, and Paris, Texas, in 1950. They owned and operated their own office supply store for many years. Phillip passed away in 1996 and Betty moved back to Red Oak, Iowa, in 1997. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and as a young girl was very involved in 4-H. She loved horses, dogs, gardening, and being outdoors. She especially loved her dog El Dee.
Preceding her in death were her parents: her husband: Phillip; daughter: Sandra; son: Gregory; and siblings: Jacqueline Ebert; Funtella Shon, Dorothy Carson, Nolene McCleod, and Mellisa Winters. Survivors include her son: Phillip Lochbrunner and wife Judy of Troutville, VA; grandchildren: Katherine Weiss and husband Jon of Stoughton, MA and Elizabeth Lochbrunner of Roanoke, VA; great grandchildren: Matthew and Andrew Weiss; brother: Harlan Ebert of Red Oak, IA; sister: Charlotte Palmquist and husband John of Red Oak, IA; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, Texas and a time to be announced.
