Birthplace: Grant, Iowa Resided In: Villisca, Iowa Betty Jean (Lee) Lindberg, age 84, of Villisca, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. Betty was born on April 28, 1932 in Grant, Iowa in the same house where her father was born. She was the 2nd of 7 children born to Albert and Olive (Hill) Lee. She attended country school and graduated from Villisca High School in 1950. She married Gilbert Lindberg, her high school sweetheart, on October 1, 1950. They were blessed with three children: David, Danny, and Linda. Besides being a dedicated wife and mother, Betty worked many years at Union Carbide/EverReady Battery Company in Red Oak until she retired in 1996. After retirement, Betty and Gilbert enjoyed traveling. Betty loved her home and took great pride in keeping things nice and tidy. She found great joy in cooking and spending time with each of her grand children and great-grandchildren. Betty was an active member of the Villisca Advent Christian Church where she served in several positions on the board and Evening Circle. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law Elmer and Ida (White) Lindberg, and her sister Mary (Lee) Robinson. Betty was a loving sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years: Gilbert; children: David (Susan) Lindberg, Danny (Sherry) Lindberg and Linda (Gary) Bruning; 12 grandchildren: Kelly (Shay) Lindberg, Kevin (Amy) Lindberg, Kyle Lindberg (Rachel), Lisa (Scott) Sawtelle, Laura (Ryan) Fischer, April (Brock) Stumpff, Brent Olson, Craig (Andria) Olson, Jenna (Brian) McCarthy, Jamie (Kami) Bruning, Trevor Bruning (Erin Ray), Danielle (Art) Reuter; 27 great grandchildren; brothers: Bob (Anna) Lee, Everette (Betty) Lee, Carl (Sandy) Lee; sisters: Sara (Jesse) DeLaney, Martha (Val Gene) Walter. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Advent Christian Church in Villisca, Iowa. Burial will be in the Methodist Grove Cemetery in rural Nodaway, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Villisca Advent Christian Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
