Birthplace: Logan, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Betty Ann Hall, age 98, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 14, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society. Betty was born August 11, 1922 in Logan, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Pearl Moats. She was raised in the Monona and Harrison County areas. She graduated from Logan High School in 1940 and was united in marriage to Francis Willard Hall on November 21, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union four children were born: Gary Francis, Timothy Lowell, Marsha Kay, and Ralph Dwain. Prior to her marriage, Betty was employed on the Harrison County Ration Board and the Logan Bank. After marriage, the couple farmed in Harrison and Carroll Counties. They left the farm in 1946 moving to Missouri Valley, then Audubon in 1955, and Red Oak in 1957. Betty was the secretary of the Red Oak First Christian Church for 13 years, working part-time at Arney's Hallmark Store for six years, Larsen Jewelry, and Red Oak HyVee where she was a cake decorator for 12 years, retiring in 1986. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, choir member, elder, and was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She sang for many years with the Happy Warblers Group whose function was to provide entertainment at the nursing homes. Betty was an avid bowler, was an artist, and loved working crossword puzzles, word searches, and jig saw puzzles. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 54 years: Francis Hall; and two sisters and their husbands. Survivors include her children: Gary Francis Hall and wife Cathy of Red Oak, IA; Timothy Lowell Hall and wife Evelyn of Falcon, CO; Marsha Kay Bartles and husband Ronnie of Red Oak, IA; and Ralph Dwain Hall of Mountain View, AR; seven grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends. A private family graveside memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery. It will be live streamed on the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel Facebook page. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
