Betty Ann Buehler, age 93, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. Betty was born August 27, 1930, in Essex, Iowa, the daughter of James and Anna (Holmes) Moore. She was raised in Essex, Iowa, where she attended school. Betty was united in marriage to Donald Buehler on July 21,1947, in Shenandoah, Iowa. They made Red Oak, Iowa, their home. Over the years, Betty worked at Thos. D. Murphy Co. and the Red Oak Schools. Betty always made their house a home and she was put on this earth to take care of us all. She lived every day for her family and loved having her children and grandchildren around. She loved parties, costumes, holidays, especially Halloween, watching people and scary movies, and going to bed at the end of the day.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her siblings; and husband: Donald Buehler on October 20, 2009. Survivors include her children: Mick Buehler and wife Jean of Olathe, KS; Linda Wookey and husband Dennis of Red Oak, IA; Shari Buehler of Red Oak, IA; and Scott Buehler and wife Joy of St. Charles, IL; grandchildren: Jake Wookey and wife Mindy; Jenny Wookey-Rich; Jason Buehler and wife Charity; Carrie Jo Skorupan and husband Ryan; and Liam, Kennedy, and London Buehler; great grandchildren: Mallorie Wookey; Madison Akers and husband Bailey; Jonan Wookey; Alex, Madi, and Michael Skorupan; Keleigh, Karson, Kolton, and Kaleb Buehler; and Cory and Jeff Rich; great great granddaughter: Lynora Akers; brother-in-law: Duane Buehler; many nieces and nephews including Max Moore of Sidney, IA; and many other relatives and friends.
A graveside celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will start at 9:30 AM on Thursday at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with friends and family going in procession to the cemetery. A memorial fund is being established in Betty's name.
