Birthplace: Shenandoah, Iowa Resided In: Omaha, NE formerly Shenandoah, IA Betty Jean (Funkhouser) Andersen, age 92, of Shenandoah, Iowa, was called by the angels from above safely home into heaven on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Bickford Senior Living Residence in Omaha, Nebraska. Betty was born January 11, 1925 in Shenandoah, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Laura (Metz) Funkhouser. She graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1943 and was employed as a teller at Security Trust and Savings Bank retiring after 45 years. Betty was united in marriage to Dale Livingston on September 9, 1945 at the Shenandoah Presbyterian Church. They were blessed with 39 years of marriage and four children: Robert, James, William, and Patricia. She was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school. Betty was a past Associate Matron Of O.E.S. and treasurer of American Legion Auxiliary. She was very involved in her community including spending countless hours at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. Betty also enjoyed traveling and visited many places such as Norway and Paris and participated in many bus tours. Dale passed away in 1984 and Betty was united in marriage to Gordon Andersen of Northboro in 1992. Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands Dale and Gordon; son: Dr. Robert Livingston; son-in-law: Ken McKee; sisters: Marguerite Beeson, Pauline Haltquist, Darlene Brooks, and Marjorie Maxwell; brothers: George, Paul, Orville, Max, John, Albert, Raymond, and Robert Funkhouser. Survivors include her children: James Livingston and wife Beverly of Pine, CO; Patricia McKee Boylan and husband Michael Boylan of Osage Beach, MO; and William Livingston of Waconia, MN; grandchildren: Jeff Livingston and wife Jeniece of Chicago, IL; Robin Livingston and friend Lyle of Colorado; Joshua McKee and fiancee Tina of Denver, CO; Jennifer Bradley and husband Darrin of Bennington, NE; Dr. Andrew Livingston and wife Megan of Lincoln, NE; Scott Livingston of Colorado; and Molly Shreves and husband Brian of Lincoln, NE; 16 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She will be missed by all. Rest in Peace Betty. Save us a seat right next to yours. All our love, Your Family Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Shenandoah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rick Sleyster officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Shenandoah Presbyterian Church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
