Birthplace: Primrose, Nebraska Resided In: Kenesaw, Nebraska formerly of Emerson, Iowa Bessie Lowe, age 98, of Kenesaw, Nebraska formerly of Emerson, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 28, 2002 at the Haven Home in Kenesaw, Nebraska. Bessie Mildred Lowe was born May 13, 1904 in Primrose, Nebraska the daughter of Charles and Lily (Brower) Babbitt. Bessie was united in marriage to Norval Lowe on January 14, 1933 in Albion, Nebraska. She and Norval lived in Boone County, Nebraska until moving to rural Emerson, Iowa in 1944. They farmed for many years before moving into Emerson in 1971. Norval preceded Bessie in death on May 25, 1976. Bessie was active as a member of the Emerson United Methodist Church and the Emerson Senior Citizens. Several years ago, Bessie moved to Nebraska to be near her son. Most recently, Bessie made her home at the Haven Home Care Center in Kenesaw, Nebraska. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Norval; and 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her son: Al Lowe and his wife Judy of Hastings, Nebraska; 3 granddaughters: Darcy Rimington and her husband Dennis of Malvern, Iowa; Piper Keating and her husband Ken of Houston, Texas; and Tami Grubaugh and her husband Rick of Columbus, Nebraska; grandson: Zachary Lowe and his wife Kim of Millard, Nebraska; great grandchildren: Beau Whipple, Andrew and Nicholas Keating, Jean Grubaugh; and Alexis, Marisa, and Austin Lowe; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at the Emerson United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nancy Schultz officiating. Burial will be in the Emerson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-8 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Emerson United Methodist Church or the Emerson Senior Citizens. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
