Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Bertha Cromwell, age 91, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Bertha Cromwell was born November 11, 1920 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Mollie (Messner) Brenning. She was united in marriage to Clarence "Connie" Cromwell on July 1, 1948 in Red Oak, Iowa. They both lived their entire lives in Red Oak. Bertha worked many years for the Thomas D. Murphy Company where she was a member of the 15-20 year club. Bertha was also a longtime member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and making jewelry. She always had a sweet smile for anyone she encountered. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Clarence "Connie" Cromwell on July 21, 1988; sister: Freda Stoneking; and brother: Herman Brenning. She is survived by her niece: Charita Stoneking of Red Oak, Iowa and many other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. JoAnn Thomas officiating. There will be open visitation at Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
