Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa William Bernard Docker, age 89, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Bernard was born March 18, 1927 northeast of Red Oak, Iowa the son of John Bernard and Mabel D. (Olson) Docker. He attended school in Red Oak and lived all of his life in Montgomery County. He was united in marriage to Delores Thomas on July 5, 1953 in Red Oak, Iowa. Bernard farmed with his father before he and Delores moved into Red Oak in 1955. Bernard worked at Thos. D. Murphy Calendar Company before starting a long career with Uniroyal retiring under Parker Hannifin Company in 1990. Bernard was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and a long time member of the Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. He enjoyed working with his antique tractors and driving in many parades. Bernard also enjoyed gardening and yard work. He and Delores enjoyed many bus trips with the Houghton State Bank VIC Club. Bernard loved his family and grandchildren, helping when he was needed and always attended their ball games and school activities. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers: Robert and Joe Docker; and brother-in-law: Marion Thomas. Survivors include his wife: Delores Docker of Red Oak, IA; children: Thomas Docker of Red Oak, IA and Diane Wise and husband Mike of LeMars, IA; grandchildren: Melissa Dickson and husband David of Shenandoah, IA; Kyle Docker and wife Melinda of Waynesville, MO; Chavis Wise and wife Molly of Red Oak, IA; and Colby and Colin Wise of LeMars, IA; great grandchildren: Aaron and Pruett Newton of Omaha, NE; Kaden, Kaleb, Kingston, and Morgan Docker of Waynesville, MO; and Hunter Wise of Red Oak, IA; sisters-in-law: Ruth Docker of Red Oak, IA; Muriel Docker of Essex, IA; Beverly Allen of Omaha, NE; Yvonne Asbra and husband Jerry of Underwood, IA; Rose Comandella of Carter Lake, IA; Carolyn Brown of Council Bluffs, IA; Virginia Lindeman of Omaha, NE; and Barb Larsen of Santa Rosa, CA; brothers-in-law: Jim Longmeyer and wife Shirley of Arvada, CO and Ed Longmeyer and wife Jane of Dodge City, KS; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Bupp officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
