Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Omaha formerly Red Oak, IA B. Elaine Heuer, age 89, of Omaha, Nebraska formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. Beatrice "Elaine" Heuer was born January 18, 1922 in Red Oak, Iowa the daughter of Lloyd Gilbert and Lillian Mae (Shepherd) Andrews. She graduated from Red Oak High School in 1939 and was united in marriage to Lansing Heuer on June 28, 1940 in Montgomery County, Iowa. They made their home on the Heuer family farm where they farmed until moving to town in 1962. Over the years Elaine was a caregiver, sold Avon, worked for Burns and Wallick Jewelers and later Larsen Jewelry, was Activity Director at Vista Gardens Care Center, and the director of Acorn Acres Retirement Community. She was a long time member of the Red Oak Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of Presbyterian Women. She was a member of the Altrusa Club, Order of Eastern Star, Buckles and Bows Square Dance Club, 4-Leader, MYF Leader, and taught ceramic classes in her home for many years. Elaine was also a member of the Hanscom Park United Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska where she had lived for the past 22 years. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband: Lansing Heuer on October 31, 1993; daughter: Judy Sexton on November 8, 1999; brothers: Gordon and Wilbur Andrews; and sisters-in-law: Mildred Andrews and Carol Heuer. Survivors include her children: Mary Ann Finley and husband Don of Greenwood, IN; Kim Neppl and husband John of Omaha, NE; and Eugene Heuer of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Lynn Briggs and wife Amy of Orange City, FL; Terry Briggs and wife Lisa of Chadron, NE; Jeff Briggs and wife April of Fontana, CA; Tina Krug and husband Jody of Plattsmouth, NE; Tanya Petry and husband Jeff of Omaha, NE; Sean Finley and wife Jen of Indianapolis, IN, Nicholas Finley and wife Jenny of Auburn, IN; Adam Finley and wife Kris of Warsaw, IN; Chris Andrews and husband Andy of Ingelside, IL; Sondi Bablitz and husband Bill of Treavor, IL; Rachael, Lindsey, Sara, Joe, and Mike Heuer of Tampa, FL; and Mikayla, Madelyn, and Mary Neppl of Omaha, NE; 25 great grandchildren; sister: Marilyn Ranney and husband Eldon of Walnut, IA; sister-in-law: Ina Andrews of Red Oak, IA; brother-in-law: Elden Heuer of Red Oak, IA; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. A memorial fund is being established in Elaine's name or memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel, Red Oak, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
