Birthplace: Knob Noster, Missouri Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Ayliffe B. Fisher, age 96, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Care Center. Ayliffe Bernice Fisher was born January 24, 1913 in Knob Noster, Missouri the daughter of M.P. and Regina (Duncan) Miller. She was raised in Knob Noster where she attended school. On February 3, 1936 she was united in marriage to Roy N. Fisher. They had three daughters and farmed all of their married life. In 1946 the family moved to Iowa and farmed near Stennett. Three years later they moved to the Essex area and in 1957 they purchased their farm northeast of Red Oak. Ayliffe was a typical farm wife and mother. She raised a big garden, was a wonderful cook, and sewed many beautiful quilts which she lovingly gave to her children and grandchildren. She was employed as a cook at the Good Samaritan Care Center for several years and also cooked at her church's youth camp. She was a member of the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for several years where she delivered mail to the patients. Ayliffe was baptized as a child and was a long time member of the Community of Christ Church in Shenandoah, Iowa. Ayliffe was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Roy Fisher on September 6, 2008; 1 brother; 3 sisters; son-in-law: Gene Maher; and two great granddaughters: Ashley and Brooke Maley. Survivors include her daughters: Donna Ross and husband Myron of Essex; Mary Maher of Red Oak; and Ruth Miller and husband Wayne of Boggstown, IN; grandchildren: Cathy Shane (Jesse), Jolene Younggren (Brent), and Tom Ross (Lisa) all of Essex; Doug Maher (Deb) of Stanton; Linda Pieken (Tim) of Avoca; Alicia Dominguez (Norman) of Tempe, AZ; Julie Kennon (Mike) of Atlantic; Jeanne Artzer (Eric) of Meridian, ID; Sherry Kennon and Scott Lukehart of Atlantic; Mike Lukehart (Lori) and Dan Lukehart (Rachel) of Red Oak; 29 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ryan Pieken officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Community of Christ Church or the charity of the donor's choice. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
