Birthplace: Villisca, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Arlene Jones, age 79, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005 at her residence. Geneva "Arlene" Jones was born January 1, 1926 in Villisca, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Hattie (King) Patterson. She graduated from Villisca High School in 1943 and was united in marriage to Jack W. M. Jones on April 12, 1943 in Omaha, Nebraska. They lived their entire married life in Red Oak, Iowa. Arlene retired July 1, 1986 from the Union Carbide Company after 25 years of service. Over the years she enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, crocheting, playing Bingo, and Skipbo. Arlene was also a member of the Red Oak Eagles Lodge, the REAC, and the Classy Cats at Union Carbide. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Jack Jones on August 13, 1988; granddaughter: Jennifer Renee Hoover; two infant sisters: Lois and Maryland Patterson; three sisters: Grace Finkle; Ada Joyce White; and Fay "Sis" Sheard; two brothers: Harold Patterson; and Jay "Buddy" Patterson. Survivors include her children: Harold Jones and wife Merlene of Beaver Lake, Nebraska; Jackie Hoover and husband Sam of Adair, Iowa; Marlene Skalberg and husband Larry of Emerson, Iowa; Denny Jones and wife Karen of Red Oak, Iowa; and Kelvin Jones and fiancé Robin Strand of Red Oak, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Ruby "Babe" Cromley of Bellevue; and Dorothy Fuls of Spring Dale, Arkansas; 4 sisters-in-law: Louise Jones of Red Oak, Iowa; Bonnie Abbott of Emerson, Iowa; Linda Patterson of Pacific Junction, Iowa; and Suzi Dozier of Buffalo, Missouri; 2 brothers-in-law: Wally and Junior Jones both of Red Oak, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
