Obituary

Anita May Dyer, age 90, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Legato Eastridge Senior Living in Omaha. Anita was born November 26, 1933, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Florence (Bruce) Winn. She was raised in Red Oak where she attended school. Anita was united in marriage to George Dyer on July 31, 1955, in Red Oak, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Karen, Montgomery, Renee, and Diana. She worked many years at the Vista Gardens Care Center and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Red Oak. She moved to Omaha where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She served in the Mary Martha Circle, Rebecca Ruth Circle, helped with Logo's young people's organization, and served on the Diaconate Committee of Worship and Outreach from 1994-1997. Anita was a member of the Omaha Christian Business and Professional Women's Council #1.

Preceding her in death were her brother: Richard Winn; father: Frank Winn; mother: Florence Winn; daughter: Karen Dyer; and sister: Marjorie Bennett. Survivors include her children: Montgomery "Mad" Dyer and wife Mary of Malvern, AR; Renee Dyer of Omaha, NE; and Diana Behrends and husband Leroy of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Garrett Behrends; Savannah Behrends (Shayn); Amanda Worthen (Casey); Cassandra Hensley (Dallas); James Dyer; Michael Tallmage; Brandon Tallmage (Jenny); Christian Tallmage (Staci); and Anthony Dyer; great grandchildren: Joshua and Tyler Worthen; Zane and Archer Hensley; Keagan and Cicily Tallmage; Avery Tallmage; and Adalynn and Jameson Tallmage; and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery in rural Montgomery County. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
