Birthplace: Red Oak, Iowa Resided In: Council Bluffs formerly Red Oak Andrew T. "Andy" Shutters, age 29, of Council Bluffs, Iowa formerly Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska after injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Andrew Todd Shutters was born August 1, 1982 in Red Oak, Iowa the son of Keith "Charlie" and Cheryel (Travis) Shutters. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 2001 and attended Iowa Western for 2 years in the auto mechanic program. He worked several different jobs over the years and attended JTL Truck Driving School. He was currently driving a truck for Savage Quality Rail Service in Lincoln, Nebraska. Andrew was an avid race fan and even owned his own car at one time. He was described by his family as always putting others first and that family was very important. He never liked saying "Goodbye". It was always "Later". He was a faithful Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs Fan and loved all kinds of music. Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents: Marland Travis and Lebert and Dorothy Shutters; uncle: Bruce Shutters; aunt: Leberta Clem; and cousin: Dawn Defenbaugh. Andrew is survived by his loving family including: Amanda Dahl and her daughter McKenzie of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his parents: Charlie and Cheryel Shutters of Red Oak; brother: Aaron Shutters of Red Oak; sister: Amber Shutters of Red Oak; grandmother: Cora Travis of Corning, Iowa; uncles and aunts: William and Betty Shutters of Urbandale, Iowa; Rose Jensen of Council Bluffs; Ruth Shutters of Hancock, Iowa; Emery and Pat Shutters of Reinbeck, Iowa; Mike and Gina Travis of Corning; and Marchell and Paul Hohlfeld of West Des Moines, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Faith Community Church with Pastor Brett White officiating. Burial will be in the Hancock, Iowa Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
