Birthplace: Plainview, Nebraska Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Allen Schumacher, age 64, of Red Oak, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha after an extended illness. Allen Walter Schumacher was born September 23, 1938 in Plainview, Nebraska the son of Robert and Leona (Buchholz) Schumacher. He was raised in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1956. He served in the Air Force from 1956-1960. Allen was united in marriage to Norma Weber on January 3, 1959 in Plainview, Nebraska. They lived in Plainview and Norfolk before moving to Red Oak in 1968. Allen worked for many years at Red Oak Office Equipment and for a short time at CDS. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Larry Schumacher; special Aunt: Iva Buchholz; and daughter: Lisa Schumacher in 1996. Survivors include his wife: Norma Schumacher of Red Oak, Iowa; son: Brian Schumacher and his wife Teresa of Fairfax, Iowa; daughter: Julie Strange and her husband Curtis of Red Oak, Iowa; 6 grandchildren: Clayton, Zachary, and Conor Schumacher; Joshua and Jessica Wilcoxson; and Cody Strange; 3 brothers: Rodger Schumacher and his wife Shirley of Blue Springs, Missouri; Robert Schumacher, Jr. and his wife Wanda of Hartington, Nebraska; and Melvin Schumacher and his wife Shirley of Columbus, Nebraska; 2 sisters: Eileen Vrooman and her husband Marvin of Tekamah, Nebraska; and Norma Steele and her husband Ross of Norfolk, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Rinde officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Friday, June 6, 2003 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. A memorial fund is being established. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
