Birthplace: Hastings, Iowa Resided In: Red Oak, Iowa Alice Marie Morse Lewis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Red Oak Healthcare Community. Alice was born on January 16, 1942 in Hastings, Iowa the daughter of Raymond and Dora (Davis) Morse. She grew up in Emerson, Iowa. Alice was united in marriage to Gary Lewis and had three children, living most of her life in Red Oak, Iowa. She worked as a cook for the Red Oak Community Schools for several years and later at CDS. Alice was well known for her love of cooking and baking. She loved to cook for her friends and family. Her other passion was her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister: Betty Riley. Alice is survived by her children: Dave Lewis (Mary)-North Liberty, IA; Roxanna Schmidt (Ric Adams)-Red Oak, IA; and Rhonda Lewis of Princeton, MN; grandchildren: Matt Smith (Christine)-Villisca, IA; Luke Smith (Danielle)-Ankeny, IA; Tori Schmidt (Travis)-Greensboro, NC; Kelsey Adams-Red Oak, IA; Melissa Sarsfield (Shawn)-Atlantic, IA; and Alyson Klein (Matt)-Lewis, IA; great grandchildren: Wyatt, Rylie, Tyson, Aylia, Stephen (Jessica), Nicole, Kassidy, and Kaler; great great grandchild: Hayden; brother: Lane Morse (Carol)-Union, NE; sister: Roberta Mitchell (Dean)-Red Oak, IA; many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. According to Alice's wishes there will be a memorial luncheon held for family and friends to share a meal and enjoy conversation on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 11 AM until 2 PM at the Red Oak Eagles Lodge. Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Hospice, Red Oak Healthcare Community, or the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital Foundation. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services.
